Financial/Accounting Operations Specialist – Ameriben

Location : This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our Columbus, GA or Meridian, ID Elevance Health PulsePoint location.

AmeriBen is a proud member of the Elevance Health family of companies. We are a third-party administrator (TPA) of medical benefits, also providing medical management, human resource consulting and retirement benefits administration services.

The Financial/Accounting Operations Specialist is responsible for performing diverse operational financial and policy activities of a non-routine nature.  Interprets and communicates departmental and organizational policies and procedures. 

How you will make an impact:

  • Receives, validates, and enters information into Finance systems. 

  • Adheres to maintained internal controls and tracking reports for reconciliations and analysis. 

  • Monitors and updates controls to ensure compliance. 

  • Conducts independent analysis for the purpose of resolving complex and varied work process issues.

  • Generates and audits check register reports for internal and external customers.

  • Generating and validating positive pay files and confirming transmissions were submitted to our banking partners successfully.

  • Works closely with other areas within Financial Operations and the AmeriBen reporting and IT teams to resolve any file or file transmission discrepancies.

  • Initiating ACH transactions.

  • Support claims check run processes and other projects and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires H.S. Diploma and minimum of 4 years relevant work experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • AA Degree in Accounting preferred.

  • A background in accounting, bookkeeping, or banking preferred.

  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable preferred.

  • High attention to detail, and the ability to manage repetitive tasks accuracy and efficiently highly preferred.
