Sales Internship - Fall 2022 Part-Time Co-Op

Sales Intern  will be responsible for supporting our large group and municipal sales teams. For the duration of the internship, this intern will work with a senior mentor to gain a full-circle understanding of sales processes, attend trainings to gain a comprehensive view of the insurance industry, and assist team members with important project-based department tasks and responsibilities while gaining relevant industry training and knowledge.

How you will make an impact:

  • Helping organize and facilitate resolutions to claim inquiries from external partners

  • Strategize and assist in organizing client presentations

  • Assist in planning document reviews to learn benefits and other relevant industry documentation

  • Learn about benefit data inputs into Salesforce

  • Participate in light broker events

  • Observe the processes of external strategy/renewal meetings

  • Engage in opportunities to do innovative work that means more to you and those we serve

  • Create greater care for our members, greater value for our customers, and greater health for our communities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day

  • Currently enrolled in a program of study at an accredited college/university, preferably within a Business degree-track but all majors are welcome to apply

  • Ability to pass monthly performance checkpoints for continued employment. As this is an ongoing part-time internship co-op opportunity, continued part-time employment, upon the completion of the initial program, will be contingent on passing the monthly performance checkpoints.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Comfortability working in a fast-paced environment and a quick learner, as training will be provided.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills

  • Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills
