Responsible for performing financial/operational audit procedures to support the Company’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 302, 404; Model Audit Rule (MAR); and the issuance of SSAE 18 Service Organization Controls (SOC) Reports. Evaluates and tests complex business processes to ensure conformance with Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, company policies and procedures, sound principles of internal control, and applicable professional standards of practice.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Audits the accounting, operational and statistical data of various departments, divisions, and locations to verify accuracy and compliance.
- Document results of compliance testing in accordance with professional standards (including SOX and SSAE 18).
- Prepare clear and concise audit work papers that summarize scope, methodology and conclusions on assigned audit procedures and provide sufficient evidentiary data to support the work performed.
- Present any irregularities or findings to the lead auditor along with proposed remediation.
- Work with business partners to address deficiencies or exceptions identified by internal or external auditors.
- Perform special projects and assignments under direction of department management.
Minimum requirements: Requires a BA/BS in accounting or finance and a minimum (or up to) of 2 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
CPA, CIA or other relevant professional certification preferred; Big four audit experience preferred; understanding of insurance company operations preferred; experience with Workiva WDesk preferred.
