Reporting directly to the CTO, Whole Health, Advocacy, and Platforms, this role will lead the technology product organization responsible for E2E provider self service capabilities across interoperability (EDI) and portal channels, with a strategic focus on improving the digital experience through:

Ensuring the information shared is meaningful, trusted, and actionable Creating transactional and relational digital solutions and B2B services with a customer advocacy bias- personalized, proactive, omni-channel preference (eg Revenue Cycle Management, Smart Claims, UM, Grievance and appeals, Consumer whole health journey manager, etc) Simplifying and unifying the digital experience with tightly integrated, customer centric workflows Aggressive orchestration of Omni-channel adoption- Availity portal, EDI (X12 and FHIR), chat, AI chat, telephony, IVR, EMR

Job Description:

Responsible for overseeing the product lifecycle from concept to delivery: Technical R&D, team leadership, Program increment planning, requirements and analysis, UX/UI design, QA and Testing, and go to market launch planning of enterprise provider facing capabilities, across all lines of business and across the end to end provider value stream including:

Enrollment & Onboarding Contracting and Credentialing Provider Demographics Mgt Pricing Pre-service (Benefit inquiry, ID card, cost transparency, appt scheduling) UM (UM rules, intake, referrals, workflow) Care (CM, DM, whole health) Claims (HIPAA 1-7 edits, claims acknowledgement) Post Service (claim status, request for information, remittance, payment) Inquiry Resolution

Oversees strategy and implementation of new products or product changes/enhancements. Monitors product performance and the competitive environment. Ensures products meet competitive and legislative needs. Establishes product development policies to guide product development. Monitors product development for compliance. 

Primary duties include, but not limited to:

Obtains resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things accomplished. Provides leadership in motivating subordinates to accomplish application design and delivery goals and objectives. Develops a strong team through training and effective organizational development practices. Implements the policies, practices, and procedures of the company and Information Technology organizations. Has fiscal responsibility for IT application budgets. Establishes relationships with business users. Hires qualified staff for assigned areas or functions. Oversees entire business unit or all aspects of a centralized function. Participates with other executives to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions at the business unit level and ensures operations' effective achievement of objectives. Accountable for budgets. Coordinates product/project management across department & divisional lines. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct report.


Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in programming environment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 10 years leading health tech/digital product organizations w/ 40+ staff in size
  • Strong ‘End to End’ business operations understanding the payer- provider value stream
  • 7 Years experience leading EDI teams (X12, FHIR), and trading partner management
  • Previous experience negotiating and managing strategic contract relationships with 3rd party admin and clinical interoperability/exchange vendors
  • Previous consulting experience associated with optimizing Provider Lifecycle Management and Revenue Cycle Management pain points
  • Expertise in healthcare interoperability and standards (HIPAA/X12, FHIR, etc)
  • Uncanny ability to understand, diagnose, and lead the remediation of ‘Voice of the Provider’ concerns driving increased AR, call volumes, and satisfaction scores- using Digital and EDI tools
  • Previous payer experience working in a product lead/engagement with Availity strongly preferred
  • Experience with leading strategic CRM implementation within a payor-provider model using PEGA or Salesforce (preferred)
