Job Title: Technical Business Analyst (Business Information Consultant)

Location: 100% Remote/Work From Home (Accepting candidates throughout the US)

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST

How You Will Make An Impact:
Responsible for discovering, analyzing, and documenting business user requirements for reports and dashboard.  Analyze and profile data to understand and write technical requirements. Serve as an expert in data analysis, reporting and formulating recommendations and providing guidance to other data analysts.

This job is more focused on higher level technical expertise, mentoring staff in lower job levels, more customer facing, higher level of collaboration, work is higher volume and/or higher risk, and modeling as compared to the Business Information Analyst, Sr. job.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with business users to discover and analyze their business needs for reports, dashboards, and data and document those needs in business requirement documents.

  • Translate business requirements to technical requirements for business intelligence developers.  

  • Creates and maintains databases to track business performance. 

  • Analyze and profile data to understand and write clear and well-structured technical requirements.

  • Communicate and validate requirements with relevant stakeholders.

  • Develop use cases and participates in design, development, and QA phases of reporting projects.

  • Develop training guides for reports and dashboards

  • Develop work instructions for internal Reporting departmental use.

  • Assist with project management for selected projects. Establish project goals, phases, and monitor progress.

  • Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures. 

  • Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies. 

  • Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports. 

  • May require taking business issue and devising best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools. 

  • May make recommendations based upon data analysis. 

  • Provides analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership or external customers. 

  • Data analysis and reporting encompasses a much higher level of complexity.

Annual Salary Range*: $82,880 - $108,780

Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. 

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Outstanding knowledge in SQL, KPI/Tableu Dashboard and Business Objects Report is critical and strongly preferred

  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data strongly preferred. 

  • Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills strongly preferred.
