Account Management Executive

Location: Aligned to an Elevance Health office, with local travel expectations as needed.

Manages and coordinates account service activities as the primary customer contact for retention of local group Taft-Hartley business. Typical group size is 1,000-10,000 eligible or enrolled subscribers

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Defines and oversees the execution of account management and retention strategy for  Taft Hartley Fund  clients located in Connecticut and other assigned territories.

  • Identifying opportunities for additional product sales to clients.

  • Supports pursuit of new business opportunities either directly with a broker/consultant or potential client, or through a team approach with field office sales staff.

  • Responsible for growing Specialty Business within existing accounts.

  • Provides support for field sales staff with RFP responses, proposals, client presentations, and underwriting coordination on new business sales opportunities.

  • Work collaboratively with Local Plan leadership and the Taft Hartley Labor team.

  • Proactively develops effective business relationships with brokers, consultants, and key decision makers in order to meet or exceed new and renewal sales targets.

  • Responsible for managing the annual renewal process for accounts, including underwriting negotiation, preparation of renewal analysis, and client presentations.

  • Coordinates and controls new business implementation activities.

  • May train/mentor lower level Account Management staff.

  • Identifies competitive situations within assigned accounts or group market, analyzes information, and develops proposals and execution plans to management.

  • Works directly with Sales Account Representatives/Account Service Representatives to assure that all aspects of account service run smoothly.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 5 years of experience in account management or sales; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.  Sales license required by day 30 of employment.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience and knowledge in supporting Labor Accounts, Medicare Advantage and Pharmacy Benefits Management is highly preferred.

  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making.

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties. 

  • Proven ability to resolve complex issues in a fast paced and high demand environment.

  • Proficient with  Microsoft Office products, MS Teams and Salesforce highly preferred.
