Job Title: IT Director, Epic EMR

Location: Remote Work Eligible

The IT Director, Epic EMR is responsible for delivery of information systems and/or technology services that may include applications, networks, databases, help desk, etc.

How you will make an impact:

  • Interfaces with key Information Technology (IT) solution vendors; develops strategies and facilitates performance measurement plans to optimize vendor performance and outcomes.
  • Develops Technology Plan and Forecast for an enterprise application, enterprise-wide tool, infrastructure, or a center or domain that is equivalent in scope and complexity, and/or manages day to day operations for a major portion of a functional area or department.
  • Ensures disaster recovery and business continuity plan are implemented, monitored, and updated on a recurring basis.
  • Directs multiple work functions/applications or major projects/programs with broad scope and strategic business impact.
  • Establishes business objectives and integrates operational plans.
  • Negotiates the resolution of intra-organizational issues in the balanced best interests of the business.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key business partners.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years of IT management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Ability to manage across geographically diverse associates and vendor partners strongly preferred.
  • If this job is assigned to any Government Business Division entity, the applicant and incumbent fall under a `sensitive position' work designation and may be subject to additional requirements beyond those associates outside Government Business Divisions. Requirements include but are not limited to more stringent and frequent background checks and/or government clearances, segregation of duties principles, role specific training, monitoring of daily job functions, and sensitive data handling instructions. Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Minimum five (5) years of EMR experience and three (3) years of Epic EMR experience required
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a customer-facing, solutions focused technology role specifically connecting digital health products to Electronic Health Record systems
  • Experienced in the full implementation of the enterprise wide Epic EMR system
  • Lead and defined EMR product strategy and vision, delivering high impact products in a dynamic environment
  • Manages implementation of new Epic EMR on cloud, major enhancements to clinical applications, and third-party application integration including but not limited to assessment and plan, analysis and design, requirements gathering, configuration and testing, ROI/Value measurement, implementation, operational support, managing urgent system fixes, application upgrades, and end of life cycling
  • Demonstrable knowledge of system deployment patterns; interoperability and data exchange mechanisms, and system connectivity and communication protocols
  • Ensure ongoing daily monitoring of systems and ensure service level agreements are maintained Manage production support and operations of all clinical applications.
  • Expert on the use of HL7, FHIR and other standards for the exchange of health information
  • A practical understanding of information security best practices, and in particular HIPAA, in the context of systems integration is a significant plus.
  • Deep experience in healthcare industry, specifically working with healthcare systems
