Job Title: Market Research Graduate Intern - Summer2023

Location: Indianapolis, IN or Chicago, IL

The Market Research Intern will be responsible for assisting the Market Strategy & Insights team with all aspects of market research project execution and play a key role in helping internal stakeholders across B2C and B2B lines of business to better understand their markets and member needs.

How you will make an impact:

  • Support team members in the execution of quantitative and /or qualitative research activities throughout a project from inception to final deliverables. This person will primary support the Commercial / Government team and other teams on an as needed basis.

  • Learn and employ best practice marketing research principles and execution strategies including methodological approaches, sampling protocols, and basic analytics. 

  • Support all aspects of quantitative research execution including, but not limited to, the design, development, testing, and monitoring of custom surveys in addition to vendor management.

  • Support all aspects of qualitative research execution including, but not limited to, developing necessary materials (screener and discussion guides), observing interviews/focus groups, preparing reports, and vendor management.

  • Prepare basic reports of key research findings and assist research team leaders with preparation of internal presentations of insights and implications.

  • Conduct secondary research, using internal and external sources, prior to the kick-off of a primary research study and as needed to support primary research execution.

  • Provide ad-hoc support, as needed, such as creating report templates.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a marketing or communications program or equivalent at an accredited college/university.

  • Graduation date between August 2023 to May 2024.

  • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements.

  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and a quick learner.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills

  • Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills

  • Keen interest in understanding member behaviors and motivations and how they impact business strategies. 

  • Passion for data analysis and the ability to understand and interpret data generated from quantitative and qualitative research.

  • Very strong attention to details, accuracy, and data integrity.   

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and, in turn, complete assignments by designated deadlines.

  • Self-motivation and proactivity to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment as well as within a matrixed cross-functional organization.

  • Ability to accept direction and feedback and be flexible and accommodating to frequent changes in assignments, tasks, and/or priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to work with and meet the needs of team colleagues and internal stakeholders.
