Quality Analyst Internship - Summer 2023

A Quality Analyst Intern will be responsible for generating and analyzing data including, but not limited to performance improvement projects and quality metric reporting.

How you will make an impact:

  • Opportunity to do innovative work promoting health equity by evaluating HEDIS measures from a population health perspective

  • Create greater care for our members, greater value for our customers, and greater health for our communities by participating in Amerigroup’s Heath Education Diversity Advisory Council (HEADC) soliciting member and community input regarding health education

  • Gain relevant industry knowledge about National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) accreditation standards and initiatives for complying with those standards

  • Learn Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) principles of performance improvement projects

  • Conduct root cause analyses for underperforming quality measures   

  • Generate and analyze data regarding various key performance indicators.

Functions for this role: 

  • Collaborate with Quality Management Team on interesting projects identifying opportunities to advance quality health care delivery to Amerigroup WA’s members. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the summer internship program

  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in related field at an accredited college/university

  • Exposure to data analytics, or willingness to learn

  • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

  • Functional medium-level experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
