Elevance Health’s Chief Administrative Office Strategy & Planning team seeks innovative, high-energy problem solvers to work with and learn from cross-functional teams as we build our business unit strategic vision and develop operational efficiencies.

How you will make an impact:

Primary responsibilities for the Business Analyst Intern   may include:

  • Conduct market research, synthesize information and frame business recommendations

  • Analyze statistical data, create visual representations, and identify actionable, data-driven recommendations

  • Design and develop National Operations Center and other CAO strategic initiative tools and resources

  • Research, identify and implement management efficiency opportunities

  • Build or enhance performance dashboards, reporting tools and investment or execution roadmaps

  • Collaborate with business partners and key stakeholders on information gathering and program/project status reporting

  • Assist in preparation of reports and communications for business unit leadership

Examples of previous projects for this role:  

  • Contributed to the development of a National Operations Center performance dashboard by defining metrics, building visualizations in reporting platforms using operational data, and outlining process and procedure for making business decisions based on dashboard reporting

  • Through collaborative communication with business and strategic initiative leads, mapped initiative deliverables, risks, and mitigation efforts to more effectively track and maintain program progress

  • Conducted market research on industry trends and innovative best practices; then synthesized findings into insights and recommendations to update department and business strategic plans and initiatives

Student qualifications:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university with a target graduation date of December 2023 or May 2024 in one of the following fields: Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Healthcare Economics or a related major

  • Available to work 40 hours per week June 5th to August 11th

  • Enrolled fulltime at an accredited college or university during internship

  • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong statistical data analysis and data visualization skills

  • Ability to research and synthesize findings into recommendations

  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills required

  • Experience with Tableau, MS PowerBI, and MS Teams preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Project coordination, including deliverable/milestone tracking, risk management reporting, and status update reporting preferred

  • Active in case study competitions or consulting clubs
