Performance Insights Data Solutions Internship

A Performance Insights Data Solutions Intern will be responsible for supporting the Performance Insights team in metrics and analysis for Elevance Claim Payment Integrity. This intern will work with multiple teams and leaders in order to ensure proper documentation of processes, clarity of request tools and communication structure, develop a base understanding of business processes in a data-driven culture, and participate in minor data support responsibilities.  

How you will make an impact:

  • Running SAS or Python and SQL reports

  • Adding enhancements to improve the value of the data we provide

  • Providing adhoc analysis or query consultation to our internal customers

  • Documenting workflows and information provided

  • Assisting in the continued development of centralized documentation storage, and value communication strategy

  • Performing other functions as requested

Functions OR examples of projects for this role: 

  • Updating team SharePoint for current process flows and metadata

  • Exploring opportunities for enhancement in existing processes

  • Writing simple SQL queries to profile data from the data warehouse or data labs

  • Modifying advanced queries to add columns to data/reports

  • Developing and/or supporting the development of business intelligence reporting

Minimum Requirements:

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Business, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or related at an accredited college/university

  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of summer internship program

  • Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and a quick learner as Training and Licensing will be provided.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills

  • Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills
