Location : Remote, preferred IL.

Responsible for participating in all phases of the development and maintenance life cycle, typically for an assigned business unit, client program, or corporate department and utilizing various customer technology platforms.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develops relationships with the application users to better understand user experience and issues.
  • Develops knowledge in change request process and develops exhibits and other materials, under supervision.
  • Assists in documenting limited business and technical requirements and coding of system components.
  • Analyzes application log files to determine cause and impact of issues.
  • Assists in developing unit test plans and is given specific tasks to support emergency releases.
  • Develops the ability to provide on-call support and monitor the system.
  • Facilitates small groups in peer code reviews.
  • Assists with support ticket queue and drives support through additional levels as required.
  • Receives referrals from other Support Technicians that cannot be resolved at that level.
  • Analyzes requests for repeat patterns, root causes, and participates in the Problem Management process.
  • Creates application defects when appropriately related.
  • Suggests process improvements.
  • Encourages a collaborative teamwork environment; collaborates with team members, developers, and other members of IT to triage and resolve issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study.
  • Experience with one database, one language and one business application is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred Databases:  Sybase ASE & Mongo.
  • Preferred Languages:  .Net & Java.
  • Preferred midrange/communication/scheduling tools:  Control-M, EDI, Tibco, Rabbit MQ.
  • Business application experience strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare Experience preferred.
  • SQL scripting experience is highly preferred.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experience:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills is highly desirable.
  • Attention to detail and process oriented is highly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze issues, recognizing patterns and similarities is highly preferred.
  • Customer service focused behavior is highly preferred.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset and work ethic is highly preferred.
