The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer is responsible for the development of robust, reusable, automated test scripts that supports and ensures the released software is stable for our customers. This includes comprehensive automated tests for the AIM Specialty Health’s applications and modules for both new versions and existing versions. The Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will collaborate with development, business analysts, quality assurance engineers and other key stakeholders, which is focused on the SDLC (traditional or agile) to ensure development of quality documents (process, user stories, design, test suites, etc.), whitepapers, standard operating procedures, training programs and validation of software tools. In addition, the Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will provide mentoring to the quality assurance engineers on an as needed basis.

Specific Responsibilities will include:

  • Develops robust, reusable, automated test scripts and enhances the scripts according to standards.
  • Review of automated test scripts created or modified to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Manage automated tests, scheduling test activities, and reporting the progress.
  • Documents the success and failures of test cases for metrics gathering and reporting.
  • Analyzes the test results and creates tests reports.
  • Creates and updates function libraries, applications, automation scripts and data files (authors detailed documentation).
  • Drives review and approval of automation plans with the team.
  • Establishes effective functional tests.
  • Hands-on testing of impacted functional areas including writing test plans and executing tests.
  • Mentors QA staff on QA best practices and new industry advances/technology/applications.
  • Develops detailed test plans and test scripts from functional specs and technical design documents.
  • Monitors and tracks defects and issues associated with automated testing.
  • Manages and grows business regression test scripts.
  • Aids in the development and refinement of structured QA processes.
  • Debugs software products through the use of systematic automated QA tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards.
  • Develops and maintain test scripts promoting reusable components and maintainability.
  • Gains domain knowledge and strong understanding of functionality and technology across all products.
  • Follows standard operating procedures guidelines, tests, tracks (gather evidence) and closes bugs assigned to QA.
  • Evaluates and implements testing tools and automated scripts needed to provide test coverage.
  • Works closely with various departments within AIM for the purpose of support, training, and knowledge transfer of expertise.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on technical documentation.
  • Other duties assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience and understanding of QA Automation testing frameworks and processes.
  • Multi-dimensional platform experience; expert level experience with business and technical applications
  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with testing REST and Soap APIs.
  • Strong understanding of complex system integrations, programming knowledge, and web services.
  • Hands-on experience working within a Quality Assurance team responsible for test automation.
  • Experience in test automation using Selenium with building and maintaining automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Java, CSS, HTML, and SQL .
  • Experience using GIT or other Version Control Systems .
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD release management processes and how they integrate with quality checkpoints.
  • Ability to understand REST or SOAP API, JSON and XML formats with experience using API testing tools like JMeter, Postman or SoapUI and RestAssured.
  • Proficiency with and/or familiarity with a variety of software testing tools such as Quality Center, Jira and TFS etc .
  • Experience testing Web, XML, SQL, REST API, JavaScript based UI’s
  • Multi database and/or multi language strongly preferred.
  • Experience mentoring others, leading multiple small projects and providing troubleshooting support is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
