Staff VP, Strategic Finance

Location:  Chicago, IL

This high-impact role provides an ideal opportunity for a top-performer to work directly with the CFO of IngenioRx, a $30B division of Elevance Health, to make a significant impact on the growth and development of the business.  The successful candidate will be responsible for financial modeling, sales finance, business analysis, long-range financial planning, and developing PowerPoint presentations that crisply articulate the story of the division’s performance and strategic growth path.  The incumbent will partner closely with the corporate development team to identify, assess, value and present potential acquisition targets to senior management, and lead post-merger integration and value-capture efforts.  Responsible for building, coaching and developing a team to support the activities described above.

Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for preparing the Division’s Long Term Growth Plan and related financial model.

  • Leads Sales Finance activities, partnering closely with the Sales team to ensure clear, consistent, reliable reporting and forecasting of membership data.

  • Partners closely with Corporate Development and Division leadership teams to source, evaluate, and execute M&A opportunities; leads post-merger integration and value-capture activities.

  • Leads Division’s capital budgeting process in concert with Division/Corporate FP&A.

  • Partners with Investor Relations teams to prepare for investor events, quarterly earnings calls, etc.

  • Conducts and synthesizes competitor analysis.

  • Develops crisp, professional PowerPoint decks and related materials for Quarterly Business Reviews, Board of Director meetings, Leadership Forums, and other internal/external speaking engagements.

  • Completes ad hoc analyses and materials as requested by the CFO, including key talking points for internal and external speaking engagements.

  • Hires, trains, and develops a team of 3-5 direct reports.

Qualifications

  • BS in Business Administration or Finance required, MBA strongly preferred.

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, Private Equity, or with a top-tier Management Consulting Firm, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Prior management experience.

Preferred

  • Prior healthcare industry experience, preferably within a PBM or payor environment.

  • Strong hands-on financial modeling skills and expertise in building professional PowerPoint presentations.

  • Prior experience in M&A, due diligence, post-merger integration, large-scale capital projects.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong initiative, and a flexible “can-do” attitude.

  • Attention to detail and sense of urgency are key success factors for this role.
