Beacon Health Option’s Growth Team is looking for an experienced Director of Sales to join its team in the Eastern US Region. This People Leader is accountable for the development, execution and management of sales plans and strategies to drive revenue growth through business development and prospecting, RFP response and proposal development, deal negotiation, and deal closing.   S/he will work in the Eastern US region across all Beacon's lines of business-including products and services designed for health plans, employer groups, and state direct customers. 

What you'll be doing:

-Develops and maintains a strong new business pipeline, managing both early and late-stage opportunities across markets. 

-Conducts in-depth strategic research across markets and guides tactical capture planning for new identified opportunities, including cultivation of prospective customers.

-Develops and maintains long term strategic relationships with customers and community stakeholders.

-Executes sales presentations and discussions at all levels of potential customer organizations.

-Drives leads through to deal closure including proposal development, pricing, and contract negotiation.

-Works closely and collaboratively across the organization with leaders in other business units, Marketing, Account Management, Product Management and Operations.

-Maintains knowledge on trends and legislation that impact business growth in the market.

-Creates opportunities to market Beacon, including attending and presenting in conferences regularly attended by potential customers.

-Leads a team of sales executives to close deals and produce new business growth.

Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 8 years of professional/leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Highly preferred skills and experience:

-BA/BS degree in business administration, public policy, psychology, social work); Master’s level strongly preferred

-10+ years’ of business development experience, preferably in behavioral healthcare/managed care. 

-5+ years of management experience leading people

-Background in managing a variety of projects end-to-end

-Demonstrated experience working with health plans, state/local/federal agencies, and employers as a customer base.

-Proven track record in attaining and exceeding sales targets

-Strong communication skills required and ability to articulate clear vision and thought leadership

-Must be able lead a team of sales executives and collaborate across the sales team.

-Excellent analytical abilities, critical thinking and organizational skills.

-Demonstrated excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail

-Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with both internal (e.g. management, peers and colleagues) and external customers
