The Transportation/Delivery Lead is Responsible for an effective and service-driven operation to provide our members with a compelling transportation experience. Reporting and analyzing transportation trip data for implementation of new strategies is also a core function of the role.  

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • performs visual inspection vehicles; Performs regularly scheduled maintenance on all equipment to ensure it is kept in proper working order; Cleans vehicles inside and outside; Handles light emergency maintenance such as flat tire change; Performs general responsibilities at all locations.  
  • Responds immediately to accident providing immediate relief to drivers as needed.
  • Immediately notifies the appropriate associates of any incidents in accordance with company policy.
  • May be a backup driver. Operates material-handling equipment safely and efficiently, according to established procedures as required.  
  • Follows all company safety, security policies and procedures.  
  • Reports all accidents and incidents regarding driver injury, equipment, and driver safety concerns.
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of all reports including but not limited to transportation logs, vehicle maintenance logs, fuel purchase logs, incident reports, accident reports, or vehicle condition reports.  
  • Assists patients, family members and others with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Complies with company policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality of patient medical records in accordance with state and federal laws. Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and other federal, state or local regulations.  
  • Participates in meetings, training and in-service education as required.   Performs other duties as assigned.  
  • Serve as escalation point to the dispatcher team for operational issues and concerns to ensure viable driver routes are produced for the benefit of the members. 
  • Liaison for the transportation vendor and monitor their daily activity and service to ensure safe and timely transportation of our members.  
  • Escalate/and or consult with transportation manager or director as required.   

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a H.S. diploma or equivalent and a minimum 3 years of route driver or commercial vehicle experience. Requires a valid federal/state/local drivers license where associate is operating a vehicle for company purposes.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

1 year customer service experience, elderly care strongly preferred.  Previous experience in healthcare environment strongly preferred.
