The Engineer Lead - Sybase DBA is performed by technical professionals responsible for the physical and technical aspects of the SAP Sybase database systems.

How you will make an impact:  

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:  

  • Installation and maintenance of the database system
  • Installation of upgrades, patches, performance ,capacity monitoring, management, and security compliance
  • Interaction with clients (internal or external) in order to understand and meet requirements for the delivery of services related to database products
  • Working with the UNIX/LINUX/DBD/Application administration teams to provide day-to-day, and on-call support for AIM's SAP Sybase databases.
  • Configuration, monitoring and maintenance of the SAP Sybase databases as well as the backups of the same.
  • Defining SAP Sybase databases architecture, hardware requirements, installation and configuration.
  • Creating documentation of activities, system changes, procedures, policies and standards for the SAP Sybase databases architecture.
  • Troubleshoot SAP Sybase ASE repository problems as well as developers code with help from others.
  • Participates in quality reviews and the implementation, upgrade and maintenance of vendor supplied metadata management, master data management and information quality with SAP Sybase or other third party software.
  • Providing direct support to DBD and Application teams.
  • Assisting DBD (Database Development) teams to effectively use the computing infrastructure in accordance with corporate standards.
  • Developing custom scripts to automate SAP Sybase databases management.
  • On call rotation for production systems to provide 24x7 support

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years related experience; multi platform, multi-dimensional experience, and expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge of SAP ASE Workload Analyzer preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP Replication DA (Data Assurance) preferred
  • Experience with Service Now (SNOW) preferred
  • Experience with Agile methodology preferred
  • Experience with JIRA preferred
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, Azure, GCP preferred
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, SOX, and/or PCI compliance preferred
  • Knowledge of CyberArk preferred
  • Experience with encryption technologies preferred
  • Knowledge of MongoDB, SQL Server, DB2 or MySQL preferred
