How you will make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifies appropriate DBMS platforms based on application requirements, technology standards/direction and architecture. 
  • Manages the strategic relationship with DBMS vendors including desired enhancements.
  • Acts as technical leader in database technologies. 
  • Develops database design standards and guidelines.   
  • Synchronizes design handoffs and deliverables with Data Architecture and Application Architecture. 
  • Identifies new features and facilitates incorporating into the application design.
  • Develops security standards and guidelines in alignment with architectural standards. 
  • Owner of all databases within portfolio
  • Responsible to define new data model for green field projects
  • Support application teams with query tunning
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Experience building and optimizing architectures and data sets.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Experience manipulating, processing and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 12 years of experience in database administration and data architecture or related disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multiple standard DBMS technologies strongly preferred.
  • Experience with PBM domain preferred.
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle and Postgres preferred
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. preferred
  • Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift preferred
  • Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc. preferred
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc. preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role. They should also have experience using the following software/tools preferred.
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets preferred.
