The Elevate Whole Health (EWH) team serves as the strategic advisors and key executors on priority initiatives for the chief clinical officer of Elevance Health, empowering clinical teams with the tools and resources they need to improve members lives. This role will work hand-in-hand with EWH team members and will engage a team of cross-functional clinical, digital, provider and data leaders and SMEs to develop and execute the EWH strategic vision.

The strategy director will be responsible for developing value management tools and resources, including product business cases, performance monitoring capabilities and working to identify, develop and propose planning and strategy to improve results based on continuous needs assessment.

How you will make an impact:

  • Partners with executive leadership to deliver and monitor our strategy and success criteria for the future.
  • Translates strategy into defined tactics, programs/projects, priorities and timelines and ensures alignment and attainment of enterprises strategic plans to turn strategy into reality.
  • Creates and presents high-quality presentations to executive levels.
  • Oversees definition development and implementation of metrics to report and monitor progress against goals and ensures plan of record supports strategy milestone deliverables.
  • Monitors, measures and communicates delivery against business strategic plan and the quality of outcomes.
  • Works with product owners and management to provide decision support analysis and write business cases.
  • Conducts and documents complex financial and business-related analyses and research fields including financial and expense performance, rate of return, depreciation, working capital and investment.
  • Provides value management guidance and analytic support to Elevate Whole Health product owners
  • Leads development, tracking, analysis, and reporting of Elevate Whole Health portfolio success metrics in collaboration with business partners and Elevate Whole Health colleagues
  • Researches relevant trends and activities in their area of expertise and works with business leadership to further define business strategy and sustain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Develops, monitors and tracks metrics to track budget and spending.
  • Collaborates with senior team and staff to develop tactical plans and communication strategies.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to other leaders in the organization on strategic thinking and on projects that deliver high return and high strategic value.
  • Champion's breakthrough projects to transform our current business environment into industry leading best practice organization.
  • Often serves as the subject matter expert in projects and initiatives.

Minimum requirements:

Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience including 3 years of leadership/management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred skills, capabilities, and experiences:

Master’s degree preferred.

Prior strategic planning, project/program management, business case and / or performance monitoring development experience strongly preferred.

Business knowledge in multiple disciplines within a Healthcare organization strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $115,500 to $199,200.  

Locations: Colorado; Nevada, Jersey City, NJ; New York City, NY; Ithaca, NY and Westchester County, NY
