Director, Clinical Quality Management: Responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of one or more clinical quality program components which may be related to HEDIS reporting, NCQA accreditation and/or other quality assurance related activities for the State of California. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with the local and enterprise team to direct the clinical quality initiatives, including NCQA accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies and other objectives.
  • Works with both internal and external customers to promote understanding of health services activities and objectives within the company and to prioritize California departmental projects according to Elevance Health’s corporate, regional, and departmental goals.
  • Implements and evaluates current processes including operational statistics, service standards and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides oversight in the planning, implementation and coordination of health care audits to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.
  • Participates in internal and external quality review activities.
  • Manages and oversees quality assurance activities, which may include, but is not limited to: managing the production, analysis, and submission of the annual HEDIS report; trilogy documents, overseeing community health promotion and disease management initiatives in California, coordinating audit activities with other regions; managing achievement and maintenance of NCQA accreditation; compiling all information for surveys, quality meetings, collaborating on mock audits, and providing consultation to business units and team leads on Quality issues.
  • Maintains knowledge of current industry standards, quality improvement activities, and strong medical management skills. Assures the training and continuing education of staff regarding standards and guidelines, including NCQA and HEDIS.
  • Participates in the hiring, training, coaching, and evaluation of the performance of team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a BA/BS in a clinical or health care field (i.e. nursing, epidemiology, health sciences); 5 years of management experience in a health care environment; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • MS or advanced degree in a health care related field (i.e. nursing, health education) or business preferred.
  • Previous experience working with NCQA, and HEDIS preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $114,960 to $219,974.

Locations:  California and Nevada
