Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director - Strategic Partnerships

Locations: Aligned to an Elevance Health office, but ability to work remotely.

Responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of key diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives across the entire enterprise.  

How you are going to make and impact:

  • Partners with the Chief DEI Officer and acts as a strategic partner within the Business Units to lead the implementation of business strategies, programs and policies aimed at improving recruitment, development, succession, and retention of a diverse workforce including women, people of color, people with disabilities, veterans, and the LBGTQ+ community.

  • Earns trust across a range of levels and disciplines; Build and sustain strong relationships with senior leaders in order to develop a deep understanding of the business and how they align to DEI goals and objectives

  • Acts as a DEI subject matter expert by contributing perspectives, insights, and translating best practices into resources and programs aligned to business/regional needs.

  • Conducts regular business reviews on status of DEI goals, advise on key programs and initiatives, and inspire leaders to drive prioritization of and commitment to DEI goals. 

  • Guides discussions with various leaders to develop a common understanding of a strategic response to the organization environment.

  • Contributes to strategic insight derived from knowledge and analysis of industry and competitive analysis.

  • Drafts strategy papers and presentations used to present to key executive level stakeholders. 

  • Recruits, retains, and develops a high performing innovative team of associates toward the implementation of key strategic programs across the enterprise through coaching and performance development.


Requires a BA/BS in Organization Development, Management, HR Development or related field  and a minimum of 10 years of related experience with 5 years experience developing, leading, and executing large scale, complex and highly visible diversity or diversity related initiatives; or any combination of education and experience, including military experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
