Massage Therapist

The Massage Therapist is responsible for performing therapeutic massages of soft tissue and joints to relieve discomfort, decrease muscle tension, and assess range of motion and muscle strength as prescribed by the treating physician.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Escorts patient to and from the treatment area.

  • Prepares area and patient for treatment.

  • Confers with clients about symptoms, medical history, and desired results.

  • Maintains the proper documentation of services performed in the Electronic Health Records software.

  • Operates the equipment efficiently.

  • Schedules and confirms patients for follow up appointments.

  • Responsible for towel laundry, folding, and storage.

  • Maintains supplies.

  • Maintains a daily temperature log sheet for the Glacier Chilling, Paraffin and Hydro collator Machine.

  • Cleans and disinfects treatment tables, equipment and instruments after each use and at the end of the day.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires High School diploma or equivalent and minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Valid Massage Therapist License required.

  • Completed or currently enrolled in an accredited academic credit program or in a nationally recognized certificate program in Health/Wellness Science, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, Personal Fitness Training or a related field.

  • Previous experience in healthcare environment and medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic health record software (NextGen) preferred.

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association preferred.

  • Bilingual in English/ Spanish preferred.
