AI Compliance Technical Advisor

Elevance Health is seeking a AI Compliance Technical Advisor to support the Office of Responsible AI to ensure Elevance Health develops and deploys AI technologies consistent with our internal standards, contracts, laws, and regulations. This position will focus on governance, evaluate use cases, develop strategic initiatives, and assist in managing internal programs.

How you will make an impact:

Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Thought leader to drive responsible AI policy development, research, and implementation.

  • Collaborate with data scientist teams to ensure model testing and validation discipline is followed.

  • Work effectively in a complex, fast-paced matrixed environment, replete with tight deliverable timeframes and multiple stakeholders.

  • Manage, document, and drive progress for compliance with requirements across a diverse group of engineering, sales and business development teams implementing AI systems.

  • Drive AI accountability, explainability, and transparency

  • Lead adoption of Responsible AI framework – translate responsible AI concepts into requirements.

  • Proven track record of being able to engage and influence a variety of stakeholders, both within and outside of Anthem.  A key attribute will be the ability to work across multiple disciplines and cultures.

  • Experience working with risk management frameworks or in situations that involve assessing, measuring, and mitigating risk. 

  • Engage with product, legal and policy teams to help them develop informed approaches to responsible AI.

  • Research, develop, and implement best practices and methods for machine learning.

  • Partner closely with various data science teams, security, privacy, legal, and other stakeholders to define and implement ethical data practices.

  • Perform desk reviews of AI solutions

  • Translate responsible AI concepts into standard requirements.

  • Develop end-to-end responsible AI solutions.

  • Ability to translate internal/external policy recommendations, laws, and regulations into implementation guidance

  • Experience with developing documentation standards, guidelines, and desk top procedures.  Must be effective at translating complex concepts into simple terms.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS in information systems or related major; minimum of 3 years technical compliance/auditing experience and 3-5 years’ experience in broad-based information systems, full life-cycle application development and/or building enterprise applications and/or data warehouse planning and development or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical compliance/audit position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in digital transformation knowledge and concepts

  • Experience with responsible artificial intelligence

  • Experience with BOT governance

This position is part of Elevance Health Hybrid model 0-3 days per month for associates working within 50 miles of an Elevance Health Pulse Point.
