Location(s)* : This position will take part in Elevance Health's hybrid work model which includes remote work and 4-10 days in office per month. Proximity to an Elevance Health major office (pulse point) is required. Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model with pulse point sites used for collaboration, community, and connection.

* Our ideal candidate would be in proximity to Norfolk, VA or Waukesha, WI. However, we will consider highly qualified candidates in other locations as well.
 

The Actuarial Business Analyst III is responsible for providing support to Medicaid Finance by serving as an expert in data analysis, forecasting, and reporting recommendations and providing guidance to other analysts.

How You Will Make an Impact :

  • Supports Medicaid medical and topline forecasting models and related tools and reporting.

  • Creates and maintains reports to track historical results and forecast results to communicate to our business partners as well as to inform management decisions.

  • Analyzes complex data and presents in a format to aid in forecasting and reporting on forecast results.

  • Measures and evaluates risks, models and forecasts future implications, consistent with established analytical methods and standards.

  • Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.

  • Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics or related field and a minimum of 5 years related experience in an actuarial environment performing financial reporting, rate development, evaluation of risk contingencies and trend projections; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience specific to group insurance, health insurance environments, or graduate level related education may also be used to offset some years of experience.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server

  • High proficiency in Excel

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Communicates effectively and has exceptional written and verbal communication skills


For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $74,160 to $148,320
