Systems Analyst Senior Advisor

The Systems Analyst Senior Advisor is responsible for defining and managing the scope of Business Systems projects. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Defines functional, usability, reliability, performance and support requirements of a system.

  • Creates and performs feature testing and determines environmental needs.

  • Provides the link between the technical and business views of the system by ensuring that the technical solutions being developed will satisfy the needs of the business.

  • Partners with business, architecture and infrastructure and oversees all service levels to ensure business area satisfaction. 

  • In depth knowledge of tools utilized. 

  • Defines detail design components with high level architecture blueprints.

  • Coordinates integration activities to ensure successful implementation. 

  • Ensures effective monitoring of systems. 

  • Defines development strategy, standards and support tools.

  • Proactively works with stakeholders to identify future system opportunities and enhancements. 

Department Specific Responsibilities

  • Establish support and Incident management best practices as new application is rolled to production over next 36 months.  

  • Assist in establishing incident management process and leading incident resolution, aligning support resources, and driving post incident action items.

  • Includes Defect resolution process for late stage testing ( parallel/performance testing).

  • Establish incident management procedures for newly built applications.

  • SOPs / Templates.

  • Validate SOPs exists and can be followed.

  • Establish and validate on call procedure.

  • Drive post incident review conversations and the implementation of required changes.

  • Follow IT Service Management best practices.

  • Manage response to support tickets and service requests received from end-users and system generated alerts.

  • Establish thresholds for both non-prod and prod environments, while aligning to enterprise standards and business needs.

  • Lead Triage efforts.   Coordinate across teams to return service to minimize impact to end users.

  • Establish communication practices across Fusion Program and FHPS.

  • Prepare the environment for steady state support and assume application ownership.

  • Establish dependency documentation for external to FHPS Systems:

    • Elevance Systems

    • FEPOC

    • Escalation process

    • Points of Direct contact

    • Impact to end users if system is down

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study.

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a variety of technologies, documenting requirements and/or building test cases; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experience

  • Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst certifications strongly preferred.

  • Experience with mainframe computer, hardware and operating systems and the impacts of changes in the systems stream, testing/product quality processes, tools and methods strongly preferred. 

  • Experience with Rational tools, Six Sigma or other process improvement training strongly preferred.
