Staff VP - Technical Architecture
Location: Location: Mason, OH, Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Tampa, FL, St. Louis, MO, or Indianapolis, IN
The Staff VP Technical Architecture role is part of the Technology Strategy and Enterprise architecture leadership team and will be accountable for establishing the future state enterprise technical architecture function. Responsibilities include Technical architecture and overseeing enterprise technology architects supporting the development and management of effective technology platforms to support organization growth and transformation towards elevating whole health for members and communities.
Role will be focused on all domains within the technology architecture and work closely with technology leadership towards the platform evolution. Broad expertise of the hybrid cloud, data center, infrastructure, cloud, mobile, AI, Internet of Things (IoT), blockchain, security, edge computing and immersive experiences technologies will be needed to ensure the development of foundational platform for future-state business capabilities and outcomes.
Role will ensure all technology domains are represented and collaborate closely with technical and solution architects within and outside the organization in creation of deliverables that help develop target-state guidance (standards, guidelines, individual parts, platforms, and configurations) for evolving the technical infrastructure across the enterprise. This role has a significant impact in delivering the exceptional experiences for our members and communities by designing and architecting robust, secure, and scalable technology platform for innovation and differentiation with enhanced services.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Collaborates with Technology leadership in establishing the vision and strategies for enterprise technical architecture function

Develops the future state enterprise technical architecture in alignment with overall company and technology vision and strategy, providing architecture for future state platforms

Conducts processes to assure business partners, and technical team are included in direction setting and that the direction is clearly communicated.

Establish and maintain technology lifecycles in partnership with technology leadership.

Oversees the technology architecture of platforms, understands, and informs the long-term direction for cloud and infrastructure technologies, assures current technologies meet capacity requirements, and certifies all business solutions against architecture designs and standards.

Leads part or all the Enterprise Architecture technologies integration and to design, develop, and/or communicate the consolidated enterprise architectures for the organization.

Works closely with the cloud and infrastructure team to ensure compliance with defined standards and architecture patterns

Establishes and leads technical governance processes for maximum value from technology investments and existing platform and infrastructure assets

Facilitates the technical architecture best practices with the architecture community of practice

Manages direct reports and leads functional area for the enterprise IT organization working with domain architects and experts embedded within Cloud, Infrastructure, digital and data teams.

This role reports to the VP, Chief Architect of Elevance Health.
Qualifications
Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 12 years of experience managing and/or leading architecture teams and providing direction to architects; experience in multiple cloud providers and technologies, and a broad understanding of all technology function; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Capabilities, Skills and Experiences:

Experience in healthcare industry preferably in managed care.
