Title: Staff VP Clinical Data Strategy & Execution

Preferred Locations: Atlanta, Virginia, or Indianapolis

Leads Elevance Health’s enterprise clinical interoperability including operations and value creation with a scope that includes both data and delivery of data and insights into the clinical workflow. 

Responsible for providing analytical support and consulting to develop new programs and optimize existing programs and other major initiatives. 

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Operationalizes the enterprise strategy for identifying and realizing value from clinical data.

  • Collaborates to integrate clinical interoperability requirements into provider contracts.

  • Translates strategy and capability needs into functional execution roadmaps, defined tactics, priorities, and high-level timelines.

  • Drives achievement by ensuring each stakeholder and partner understands and documents an execution plan and follows through to achieve an outcome.

  • Achieve and advocate for interoperability by incorporating evolving business priorities, including the development of analytical targeting tools, business rules, and requirements into provider contracts.

  • Ensures the right business intentions are executed accurately and timely including prioritization of clinical systems to integration that optimizes enterprise value.

  • Promotes the importance of advanced analytics and leverages analytical insights to enhance business results.

  • Collaborates with senior leadership from Enterprise Data and Analytic Platforms (EDA) to implement connections, data quality assurance and improvement, data tracking, and integration into Elevance Health systems and platforms to support various uses of the data.

  • Establishes financial management governance, and operational readiness plan.

  • Develops opportunity reporting, monitors key program financial metrics, and identifies drivers of metric fluctuations.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.

Requires a BA/BS in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in healthcare information technology with an understanding of healthcare information technology standards and interoperability; minimum of 5 years of healthcare information technology experience; strong understanding of clinical workflows; minimum of 8 years of direct management experience with direct operational accountability, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences: 

  • Strong leadership experience managing people and collaborating across matrixed organizations 

  • MBA, JD or MHA strongly preferred
