Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports and assists Data Scientists in building, testing, and validating machine learning models to predict, classify, quantify, and/or forecast business metrics. 

  • Participates in all phases of analytics models’ development, with a focus on data preparation, including sampling, procurement, wrangling and other data treatments for modeling studies.

  • Develops analytics reports, perform ad-hoc analysis to meet business objectives, requirements, and timelines.

  • Proven ability to design studies and address data quality issues in study design, constructing robust and efficient analytical data sets to support the analysis and interpretation of data to inform business decisions and predictive model development. 

  • Publishes and presents analytical results to high-level business partners, addressing constraints and limitations.

  • Proactively collaborates with business partners to identify population segments and develop actionable plans for identifying patterns related to quality, use, cost, and other variables.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires MS, MA, or PhD with concentration in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, computer science, cognitive science, economics, or operations research, a minimum of 3 years direct experience programming large, multi-source datasets with SAS required, and a minimum of 3 years in health care setting; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience in analytics or related field.

  • 3 or more years of experience in mining and analyzing large data sets from multiple data sources.

  • Knowledge of analytics tools and methods (Excel, SQL, Python/R, Teradata/SQL Server).

  • Advanced expertise with SQL.

  • Advanced expertise with software such as Python, R or equivalent is strongly preferred. 

  • Solid foundation of statistical modelling and machine learning algorithms.

  • Master’s degree and experience in the health care sector preferred.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills including the ability to present analytical results to a business audience, with a preference for presenting to large multi-disciplinary audiences on a regular basis.

  • Strong ability to participate in a team to produce complex analyses on a rigorous schedule and communicate effectively with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in working with health-related data is strongly preferred.
