AIM Specialty Health's Clinical Operations Org is looking to hire a Medical Director & Manager of Clinical Review. The People Leader will manage a team aligned to AIM's Musculoskeletal (MSK) line, comprised of physicians and APPs who perform clinical reviews for interventional pain management, orthopedic surgery, and spine surgery requests for patients.
Responsible for providing day-to-day guidance, support, and leadership for the clinical and quality activities and supporting the Medical Director in ensuring the clinical integrity of broad and significant clinical programs. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Providing support to clinicians in daily tasks and participating in peer-to-peer discussions with providers and external physicians as necessary. May participate in a physician on-call rotation for a 24x7 pre-certification unit. Assists in practitioner appeal reviews, appropriateness criteria reviews, medical policy, and technology assessments, setting and implementing QI initiatives, and practitioner/provider credentialing. Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports.
Requires MD or DO. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience with expertise in medical management is required. Board certification is required where applicable to the duties being performed.
Highly preferred skills and experience:
-Experience within a managed care business in the areas of clinical review, utilization management, prior authorization.
-Administrative medicine experience in a care delivery system
-Former experience managing a team of physicians and APPs
-Clinical experience with Musculoskeletal areas such as interventional pain management, Neurosurgery, or Orthopedic Surgery
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $198,000 to $357,000
