Senior Implementation Specialist
Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.
The Senior Implementation Specialist i s responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing enhancements to business systems. Will also provide support, configuration, design, testing, and implementation for claims editing systems. Works on projects with significant financial, retention, and compliance impact.
How you will make an impact:
• Provides strategic direction for developing enterprise project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risk, contingency plan, and allocation of resources.
• Provides expert knowledge of project management methodology approaches, techniques, and tools to senior management.
• Directs system analysts, software designers, and programmers to determine the best methods to achieve project objectives.
• Coaches and mentors project team members; mentors other project managers around project management methodology; determines project scope.
• Participates in and manages validation and accomplishment of business systems requirements.
• Identifies short and long-range strategies to ensure maximum system performance and prompt delivery of services.
• Manages the testing process for claims edit implementations and deployments.
• Ensures issues with the implementation of system enhancements are effectively communicated and resolved.
• Translates the most highly complex and varied business needs into application software functionality. These needs typically involve a significant expenditure or cost savings and impact a wide range of functions.
• Works with business owners to identify and analyze requirements and processes with Information Technology and the vendor to ensure quality and timeliness of systems/project deliverables.
• Configures new designs/updates in the system.
• Monitors system and business functionality and performance.
• Documents and tracks product defects.
• Coordinates problem resolution with development and/or product vendors.
• May implement rates, rating formulas, product, and benefit configuration/information as directed by the appropriate business unit.
• Analyzes, develops and validates data. Researches, documents and completes very diverse and complex projects and work processes to ensure business continuity and consistency.
• Formulates and defines system scope and objectives based on user-defined requirements.
• Supports and maintains the systems post-implementation.
• Provides end-user support, consultation, liaison communications, helpdesk triage, training, reporting, auditing, application security, and ad hoc inquiries and requests.
• Provides expertise to lower-level analysts.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 15 years of enterprise project management experience in broad-based information systems managing increasing project size and complexity that are transformational in nature for the organization, full life-cycle application development and/or building enterprise applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
• Claims editing experience strongly preferred
• Experience working in an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiating, solving problems and issues, resolving conflicts, managing resources in a matrix environment, communicating, and influencing effectively at all levels of an organization required, and/or data warehouse planning and development.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is strongly preferred.
• Agile experience preferred.
• Some travel may be required.
