Description
Responsible for assisting in the development of pricing and underwriting policies and standards, including strategic oversight of underwriting function within the Balanced Funding UW Group.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Manages daily workflow within a unit and ensures timely release of work.

Oversees issuance of standard financial arrangement contracts.

Monitors competitors' rates, benefits, and financial arrangements.

Assists in the design, pricing, and implementation of new products.

Monitors and influences the profitability of renewals and prospects within the Elevance Health Balanced Funding Small Group block of business.

Supervises calculation of rate actions (including components of Elevanch Health Balanced Funding) for both renewal and prospective small groups.

Maintains adequate staffing levels to ensure work can be completed within established timeframes.

Manages special projects.

Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Requires a BA/BS in a related field; 7 years of related underwriting experience including prior management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Qualifications or Skills
-
CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred.

Ability to working within a collaborative and flexible environment preferred.

Experience and knowledge in healthcare benefits plans notably in stop loss and/or balanced/alternative funding highly preferred.

Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills strongly preferred.

Experience interacting confidently with key stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making.

Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties.

Delivers consistent tools across all markets representing one common voice.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $106,992 to $213,984
