Microservices Java Engineer Lead
Location : This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations including Atlanta GA, Richmond VA, and Walnut Creek CA.
The Digital Technology Organization at Elevance Health is seeking a highly motivated hands-on Software Engineer focused on the application of emerging technologies. The Microservices Java Engineer Lead is will be a technology leader and doer who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
How you will make an impact:

Analyze requirements, system risks, and software reliability.

Design and Implement RESTful and Event Driven Microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot.

Build cross browser compatible code using HTML, CSS, Javascript and ReactJS.

Enhance performance of the front-end and backend applications.

Collaborate with front-end Engineers, back-end Engineers, Product Owners, and QA Teams.

Maintains active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and leads requirements gathering meetings.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to.
-
Leads requirements gathering meetings and reviews designs with the business.
-
Leads efforts with Web and marketing team to increase the presence of web products.
-
May implement improvements in stability, performance, and scalability across major business-critical systems.
-
May implement process to reduce barriers and roadblocks in projects, services, and processes in order to operate more efficiently.

Owns the change request process and coordinates with other teams as necessary.

Develops and owns list of final enhancements.

Develops and defines application scope and objectives and supervises the preparation of technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.

Performs technical design reviews and code reviews.

Ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan.

Responsible for delivery of application technology solutions and data information planning effort.

Coordinates and manages on-call support and owns the system monitoring process.

Owns the technical development environment and works on the Enterprise team.

Leads multiple or large projects and facilitates large group JAD sessions for requirements, modeling in several disciplines.

Leads vendor evaluation and analysis.
Minimum Requirements:
-
Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years related experience; multi platform, multi-dimensional experience, and expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
-
Proven expert knowledge and experience in designing and implementing Microservices using Java 11 or above, Spring Boot 3, and Kafka, with 5 years of experience.

Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ReactJS strongly preferred.
-
HL7 FHIR preferred.
-
Snowflake preferred.
-
Kubernetes preferred.
-
Spring Batch and Spring Security (OAuth2) experience preferred.

Proficient in SQL authoring

Passionate about technology and delivering solutions to solve business problems using RESTful and Event driven architectures

Experience working in an Agile software delivery environment, with exposure to continuous integration and continuous delivery tools

Great collaboration and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work with team members and lead by example in code, feature development, and knowledge sharing

A Degree in Computer science, Mathematics, or any other quantitative discipline

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $137,080 to $205,620
