The Systems Performance Engineer Sr (Performance Test Lead) is responsible for Systems Performance Engineering support tasks, leading to delivery of application systems which meet the performance and throughput requirements of business stakeholders.  

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:  

  • Leads and coordinates performance engineering for medium to large initiatives.  
  • Collect and document expected system performance and operational characteristics.  
  • Collect and/or prepare test data for test execution.  
  • Develop and execute performance tests including load, stress, endurance, fail-over and interoperability.
  • Create and run Load Runner scripts.
  • Correlate and parameterize scripts.
  • Conduct technical analysis of performance test results and production systems, and provide recommendations on performance tuning, systems, and infrastructure.  
  • Identify, report, and review defects in assessing system performance and stability.  
  • Create reports to document performance metrics, test results, analysis and recommendations.  
  • Develop Work Load Patterns, Estimations, Performance Strategies and implement them.
  • Monitor performance of production systems.  
  • Leads peer reviews to ensure the completeness of all test assets created.
  • Understand and follow all applicable SDLC and performance engineering processes.  
  • Resolve performance and stability issues in performance test environment.
  • Leads performance defect triage.  
  • Plan and coordinate performance engineering efforts in support of key initiatives.
  • Determine level of effort and resource requirements for customer engagements.  
  • Develop performance engineering work plan structure and project schedule.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure complete understanding of performance and operational requirements.  
  • Review architectural design for performance risks and potential issues.
  • Prepare capacity analysis when applicable.  
  • Facilitate team efforts across multiple projects and/or systems.  
  • Facilitate improvement of the performance engineer process in the SDLC.
  • Facilitate resolution of production performance and stability issues.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years performance engineering and performance testing experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of load test tools - HP Performance Center, JMeter, CA Wily Introscope preferred. 
  • Text execution and analysis & reporting highly preferred.
  • Experience managing performance engineering efforts for an application strongly preferred.
  • APM tools like Dynatrace, App Dynamics and Splunk Experience is preferred. 
  • Experience with performance testing monitoring tools and consolidating the results preferred.
  • Knowledge of performance trouble shooting (heap dump & thread dump analysis) is preferred. 
  • Ability to lead performance optimization efforts with a strong command of complex performance issues and the ability to direct component owners (network, database, AppDev, server OS/WAS, storage, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong co-ordination, communication & reporting, analytical skills. 
  • Experience in Agile and DevOps methodology, micro services, Angular js preferred.
  • Strong Database knowledge of SQL (Relational databases), writing complex queries to capture customized metrics highly preferred.
  • Healthcare Domain Experience & claims processing lifecycle experience preferred.
  •  Claims processing lifecycle experience preferred.
  • Pega experience and JIRA experience are preferred but not required.
