Underwriting Policy Director
This position will take part in Elevance Health's hybrid work model which includes remote work and in-office collaboration. Depending on location and proximity to a pulse point (Elevance Health Major Office), will determine hybrid schedule with the highest in-office commitment being 0-3 days in an office per month.
The Underwriting Policy Director is responsible for the development of underwriting policy for Large Group business units within a state and to serve as the underwriting coordinator within our Center of Excellence (COE) for our Professional Employer Organizations (PEO).
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Work with all underwriting markets to outline current process flows and implement process improvements.
- Serve as central underwriting point of contact externally for new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain centralized reporting.
- Partner with enterprise PEO team to support local market level sales in external renewal negotiations
- Partner with enterprise PEO team to support local market sales in new sales and expansion opportunities
- Review/approval of renewal rebanding for clients within the PEO contract.
Requires a BA/BS in a related field; 7 years of experience related to large group underwriting with exposure to medical, dental, life and disability products, and the full array of funding options; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background..
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- MBA preferred. CCLU preferred.
- Success in reducing operation costs strongly preferred
