Nurse Practitioner

Location: Indiana (Must have an active IN License) (Must be residing within IN)

Schedule: Mondays through Fridays, 830 AM to 5 PM EST (No evening hours, weekends, or holidays)

This opportunity is for a dedicate Nurse position that will be onsite at an Anthem client’s location in the Indianapolis, Indiana area.  Primary responsibilities include providing oversight of prior authorization needs and any care coordination/follow-up. This position will interface daily with the client’s wellness team and work with within the client’s onsite clinic as well as participate in meetings and discussions.

Responsible for managing patient care and treatment (in person, telephonically and/or video) in collaboration with the physician. As a senior clinician, acts as a floater and provides coverage for nurse practitioners on PTO/LOA and also assists with high risk coverage. May also assist with new market launches.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs health assessments and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions.

  • Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs.

  • Discusses case with physician.

  • Formulates and documents care plan.

  • Prescribes medication or other forms of treatment.

  • Participates in On-Call program, which may include after-hours, weekend and holiday calls and visitations.

  • Provides clinical coverage for nurse practitioners on PTO/LOA and may also support new market launches.

  • Assess nurse practitioner performance related to facility, to ensure appropriate relationships have been established with key staff, facility understands model of care, and knows who to contact for escalation if member has change of condition.

  • Mentors and coaches nurse practitioners and provides feedback on documentation and clinical decision making.

  • Is involved in onboarding and training of new nurse practitioners.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Requires an MS in Nursing and minimum of 3 years of related experience with clinical emphasis for nurse practitioner; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Current unrestricted RN license and NP license in applicable state required.

  • For CareMore business units, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.

  • Travel may be required.
