Information Security Advisor

The Information Security Advisor maintains enterprise information security policies, technical standards, guidelines, procedures, and other elements of an infrastructure necessary to support information security in compliance with established company policies, regulatory requirements, and generally accepted information security controls.  Responsible for the delivery of strategic network security, access control and secure transaction/messaging solutions.  Ensures security solutions involving the use of technologies are well-conceived, designed and implemented in compliance with enterprise standards.

How you will make an impact:

  • Monitors and maintain overall system health of the Endpoint Detection and Response platform and clients.

  • Participates and completes tasks associated with the implementations for systems and network security technologies.

  • Identifies, prioritizes and onboards internal, application data feeds to the SIEM platform.

  • Configures and deploys native and custom log gathering solutions as required to meet use case objectives.

  • Monitors and maintains overall system health of the SIEM infrastructure.

  • Provides system and network architecture support.

  • Assists in incident response efforts.

  • Provides supporting artifacts for audit requests.

  • Drafts communications, to include but not limited to reports, procedures and presentations.

  • Executes testing plans.

  • Coordinates and prepares reporting of data security events and incidents.

  • Provides technical support to business and technology associates.

  • Provides trouble resolution on complex issues.

  • Performs system and network upgrade tasks.

  • Designs and analyzes vendor services and information security requirements.

  • Maintains relationship with key vendors.

  • Participates and completes lights-on initiatives to consolidate equipment and/or implement business relocations.

  • Performs complex configuration changes to meet business and information security requirements.

  • Performs capacity analysis; recommends and implements capacity increases.

  • Responds to Level 3 and 4 change and problem requests.

  • Leads Level 1 and 2 incident recoveries and root cause analysis.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires BS/BA degree in Information Technology or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in systems support, system administration, system engineering, system security, access management, network security, network communications, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management, hardware, software, and/or data; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Experience in planning and designing highly complex systems strongly preferred. 

  • Experience with multiple technical and business disciplines strongly preferred. 

  • Security Certifications: CISSP or other technical security certifications (e.g. Systems Security Certified Practitioner, Certification and Accreditation Professional) strongly preferred.

  • Knowledgeable in Endpoint Detection and Response platform and client administration strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Tanium strongly preferred.
