Engineer III

The Engineer III is responsible for the delivery of end-to-end system development and maintenance on complex technology systems within assigned client group, business unit or corporate department.

How you will make an impact:

  • Development on medium to large complex customer technology platforms or architectures.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry trends, our products and infrastructure.

  • Work with development team to develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare functional and/or technical specifications.

  • Code and maintain complex components of information systems.

Department specific responsibilities include:

  • Implement composable and reusable distributed data pipelines using a cloud-native stack.

  • Maintain existing cloud-native data pipelines, monitor their performance, and identify areas of improvement to increase data acquisition rates while decreasing computing costs.

  • Develop new distributed computing tools to extract and transform data throughout its lifecycle more efficiently.

  • Develop new machine learning techniques to automate the interpretation and translation between various data formats.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study; minimum of 3 years’ experience on one platform, multi database, multi-language or multi business application; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Proficiency in Go and Python strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in Application Development on Kubernetes:

    • (1) composing deployments, services, and setting up horizontal scaling metrics

    • (2) familiarity with service mesh concepts and tools such as istio and kiali

  • Proficiency in composing distributed cloud-native pipelines using any of the following: Kubeflow pipelines, Argo workflows, Tekton pipelines strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience with Spark and/or Dask strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of distributed systems principles strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency in NoSQL and Graph distributed databases: ElasticSearch, Neo4J strongly preferred.
