Description
A Corporate Tax Intern will be responsible for a variety of diversified tax assignments working alongside our team of tax professionals. The Corporate Tax Intern will receive varying levels of exposure to federal, international, and state and local tax. In addition, work may include tax technology, data analysis, research, audit defense, and process improvement. The intern will conclude the internship having collaborated on complex assignments and leading change while working in the corporate finance organization.
The Elevance Health Summer Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience designed to provide students with real-life, challenging project work, improve business acumen, provide exposure to senior and executive leadership, and the opportunity to learn more about the healthcare industry! Interns will participate in career and professional development activities and networking events with other interns and associates.

How you will make an impact:

Performing in-depth data analysis and tax modeling
-
Assisting with process improvement and automation development Researching and executing analysis of tax law (federal, state and/or international

Supporting ongoing state and/or federal state tax audits

Collaborating on and implementing tax technology initiatives

Preparing selected tax filings and/or tax incentive packages while analyzing tax developments and their application to business units

Working with a global tax team to deliver outstanding results
Minimum Requirements:
-
Currently enrolled at an accredited college and within a BA/BS degree program for Finance, Accounting, or a related degree.

Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the Summer 2023 internship, in a hybrid work model, out of our Indianapolis, IN Corporate Office
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

An interest in pursuing a career in the field of taxation (interest in pursuing CPA licensure a plus).

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Excellent written, and oral communication skills

Experienced and skilled within the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel, Access, and PowerPoint Working knowledge or comfort in learning to work with ETL tools such as Alteryx and programs and languages such as Microsoft PowerBI, Microsoft PowerAutomate, SQL, etc
