Data Administration Advisor

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and in office one day per week). Ideal candidates will live in the state of Indiana or within 50 miles of one of our Pulse Point locations in Richmond, VA, Roanoke, VA, Norfolk, VA, Cincinnati, OH, Atlanta, GA, Midland, GA, Latham, NY, Las Vegas, NV, South Portland, ME, St. Louis, MO or Louisville, KY.

The Data Administration Advisor is responsible for working with data developers to build conceptual and logical designs for databases and other components to meet overall information requirements and strategy.  In this role, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in several technologies while assisting the Data Developers in completing their work.

How you will make an impact:

  • Participates in developing new solutions.

  • Works as an advisor to other development teams to tune and optimize existing applications.

  • Shares common coding patterns for today’s database solutions.

  • Participates in the definition and shaping of projects.

  • Develops and documents all data related facilities and functions that must be implemented to successfully meet business needs.

  • Develops conceptual or general designs to solve requirement challenges, including logical design of databases, access methods and metadata presentations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in information systems with 5 years of data administration experience or related disciplines, which includes: metadata management, reference data management and data quality; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Advanced PL/SQL Programming strongly preferred.

  • Advanced SQL troubleshooting (eliminating query problems such as correlated subqueries) strongly preferred.

  • Experience with SQL Query optimization strongly preferred.

  • Production support (helping diagnose issues with designated production support team) strongly preferred.

  • Experience leading small to medium size groups strongly preferred.

  • Agile Train support (SAFe) strongly preferred.

  • Advanced Oracle query troubleshooting preferred.

  • Experience in Relational DB design preferred.

  • Understanding of oracle kernel/system DBA tables preferred.

  • DB Architecture – understanding DB design preferred.

  • Tableau experience preferred.

  • Business Objects Information Design Tool skills preferred.

  • Business Objects report development skills preferred.

  • DB Maestro/Database Source Control Repository experience preferred.

  • Informatica developer skills and basic Informatica troubleshooting preferred.

  • System DBA experience preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal skills preferred.

  • Agile environment SDLC experience preferred:

    • Scrum teams

    • Kanban teams

    • Jira – Release Management

    • Confluence – Document Repository

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $117,348 to $176,022

Locations:  Nevada; Latham, New York
