Behavioral Health EAP Consultant I

Location: Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, providing various levels of flexibility while also ensuring that associates have opportunities to connect in-person. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process. Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.

Hours: Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun 4PM to 12:30AM

The BH EAP Consultant I is responsible for providing 24/7 Behavioral Health and Employee Assistance services to up to approximately 10 million lives.

How you will make an impact:

  • Supports Employee Assistance Program (EAP) department by responding to initial customer contacts and request for services; receives client request, assesses situation, determines appropriate course of action.

  • Provides telephone support for crisis intervention, assessment, education, short term problem resolution, and referral to appropriate provider(s).

  • Provides consultation concerning Critical Incident Stress Debriefing requests.

  • Assesses members and assists them in accessing behavioral healthcare benefits available under their health plan.

  • Assists in shared tasks such as managing mailboxes that are used by clients and external vendors to forward information that must be reviewed and placed in documentation system.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires minimum of 3 years of direct psychiatric and/or substance abuse experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Current unrestricted independent clinical license (Supervised clinical hours completed) in state of residence required. Clinical license examples include (but are not limited to) LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, LCMHC.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • EAP experience highly preferred.

  • Call center experience highly preferred.
