GRS Business Strategy Intern - Undergrad, Summer 2024





A GRS Business Strategy Intern  will be responsible for supporting our Group Retiree Solutions team in projects relating to developing new business areas, formulating business strategy, and performing key data analysis that will make a meaningful impact to the business. This is an opportunity to do innovative work that will provide real-world experience, with their work contributing our company’s mission to elevate whole health and advance health beyond healthcare.

The Elevance Health Summer Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience designed to provide students with real-life, challenging project work, improve business acumen, provide exposure to senior and executive leadership, and the opportunity to learn more about the healthcare industry! Interns will participate in career and professional development activities and networking events with other interns and associates.

How you will make an impact:

  • Provide research, analysis, and recommendations on the external environment as part of the development of strategic plans for the business unit

  • Analyze major competitor strategies and identify changing patterns while recommending responses to the business need

  • Acquire and maintain data/information on market, economic, consumer, and competitive conditions and trends within health insurance/managed care

  • Participate in ad/hoc projects to obtain well-rounded, real-world exposure to procedural data insights

  • Guided by team leadership, drive process improvement and efficiencies that will result in long-term tangible savings for the business division

Minimum Requirements:

  • Actively pursuing a BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Healthcare Management, or related degree at an accredited college or university.

  • Ability to work the hours set forth by the Summer Internship Program, 40 hours per week

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S., without future visa sponsorship requirements

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel

  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills

  • Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills

Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy.
