Title: Pharmacy Prior Authorization Representative (BioPlus)

Location: Onsite:       

            IN-INDIANAPOLIS, 220 VIRGINIA AVE

            MO-ST LOUIS, 1831 CHESTNUT ST

Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1 hour commute of posted site locations.

Shifts Available: 8:00am-5:00pm | 9:00am-6:00pm | 10:00am-7:00pm

The Pharmacy Prior Authorization Representative is responsible for prior authorization submission review and follow up.  

How you will make an impact:

  • Managing incoming prior authorization request and/or rejected pharmacy claims.

  • Responsible for the identification and data entry of referral requests into the UM system in accordance with the plan certificate.

  • Responds to telephone and written inquiries from clients, providers, and in-house departments.

  • Conducts clinical screening process.

  • Develops and maintains positive customer relations and coordinates with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests and questions are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

  • Obtain prior authorizations; initiate requests, track progress, and expedite responses from insurance carriers and other payers.

  • Review prescription for accuracy of prescribed treatment regimen prior to submission of authorization.

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year of customer service or call-center experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • 1 year of Pharmacy or Specialty Pharmacy experience.

  • 1 year of Pharmacy Prior Authorization experience.

  • Pharmacy claims experience.

  • Pharmacy denial experience.

  • Cover My Meds / Navinet experience (PA Submission portal).

  • Medical terminology experience.
