Cloud Security Strategy & Engagement Executive Advisor work in close partnership with IT/IS leadership to set direction, oversee various aspects logistics, finance, execution, and communications.  This role is  key to ensuring that Cloud Security is engaged with sr. management to ensure alignment with the organization’s vision. 

Essential duties can include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees Cloud Security’s strategic and long-range goal planning function.

  • Oversees all aspects of technology used in the delivery of Cloud Security services; works with cloud platform and security tooling vendors to ensure adequate systems and technology are maintained to support the recordkeeping, processing, and organizational objectives and Anthem’s security strategy.

  • Responsible for supporting the evaluation suppliers, products, and services, and ensuring that approved purchases are cost-efficient, high quality, and hold the vendors accountable for delivering on their commitments.

  • Oversees all financial matters related to the administration of Cloud Security services, reviews and monitors run rates weekly bank, operational, and financial statements; approves all day-to-day expenses.

  • Communicates and meets regularly with the IT/IS leadership, committees, professional advisors, and vendors; provides regular status reports to Cloud Security management; ensures the effective communication of targeted changes to all parties; oversees the development of all the Cloud Security communication materials and notices for customers, staff, and sr. management.

  • Contribute to the development of service portfolio plan for Anthem Cloud Security Technology (IT) line of business by collaborating with VPs, Directors, Senior IT Managers, business unit customers, various IT functional areas to identify requirements and best-in-class technologies, comparing costs and benefits, and recommending solutions.

  • Develop resourcing strategies, allocating budget, staff, tools and specialized support necessary for the maintenance and enhancement of solutions within Cloud Security.

  • Actively participate in governance activities on assigned projects to ensure budget, timelines, features and quality are being managed appropriately.

  • Monitor and report to CISO leadership and business area management on the status of multiple concurrent project efforts.

  • Be ambassador to foster and maintain good working relationships with business unit representatives to remain in sync on direction and future development requests.

  • Measurably improve the customer experience.

  • Champion the Cloud Security brand across the enterprise.

  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives, facilitate special projects, and ensure action items are executed on behalf of Cloud Security leadership.

  • Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, handling the oversight of initiatives that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between functional areas of responsibility.

  • Acts as an extension of Cloud Security leadership and information funnel, filter, and facilitator with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Promote team integration as well as cross-functional communication and collaboration.

  • Track high priority initiatives for Cloud Security leadership to identify any/potential obstacles.

  • Serve as a thought partner and strategic advisor to Cloud Security leadership, standing in on meetings, challenging ideas and offering a different perspective, and following up on action items with the team accordingly.

Minimum Requirements:  

  • BS/BA in Information Technology or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Preferred 3 years leadership experience in which one or more of the following occurred:

    • established track record of consistent success in delivery management; organized, planned, and executed large-scale initiatives from vision through implementation involving internal personnel, contractors; resourcing analysis and financial planning to meet objectives on time and within budget.

    • successfully developed and implemented new solutions, using new and emerging technologies.

    • demonstrated competency developing, growing, and elevating talent with a high degree of positivity in a fast-paced work environment.

    • developed efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.

  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve complex business and technical issues.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management and thrive in a cross-functional environment.

  • Experience with vendor engagement: building relations, and maximizing value, without limiting negotiating positions.

  • Extensive knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Strong conflict management skills.

  • High degree of confidentiality, self-motivation, commitment, and integrity.
