Summary
The Staff Vice President of Marketing Planning, Execution, and Governance leads strategic planning efforts, oversees project execution, and ensures robust governance processes within the marketing department. This role involves managing a diverse portfolio, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and overseeing a Project Management Office (PMO) staffed with skilled professionals to optimize project delivery. The successful candidate will leverage strong leadership, communication, and change management skills to drive alignment with business objectives and foster a culture of excellence in marketing operations.
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management
Develop and refine marketing strategies aligned with overarching business objectives in collaboration with senior leadership, translating long-term goals into actionable plans within the PPM tool.
Manage the marketing portfolio, prioritizing projects, allocating resources, and overseeing budget management to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and deliver measurable value.
Execution Excellence and Best Practices Implementation
Oversee the execution of marketing initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget constraints. Implement best practices and methodologies to optimize project delivery processes.
Continuous Improvement and Process Optimization
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the marketing department, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource utilization.
Provide guidance, coaching, and support to marketing teams and leaders to navigate changes effectively and foster a culture of adaptability and resilience.
Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement
Lead change management initiatives to facilitate the adoption of new processes, technologies, or organizational structures. Provide guidance and support to stakeholders to navigate transitions effectively, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
PMO Leadership and Reporting
Oversee a Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for project governance, standard methodologies, and project delivery excellence. Manage the tracking and reporting on project portfolio performance, ensuring real-time, comprehensive views and prioritized metrics to influence changes as needed.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 15 years’ experience, which includes strategic planning, project management, and organizational leadership within a marketing environment or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences
Master’s degree preferred.
Strong understanding of portfolio management principles and practices.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Demonstrated ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
Workfront experience and proficiency is a plus.
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PGMP) is desirable.
Experienced with Six-Sigma, LEAN, Agile, PDCA or equivalent framework.
Experience in operating and optimizing a Program Management office.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $162,400.00 to $292,320.00.
