AI Data Protection – Information Security Sr Advisor 

Location: This position will take part in Elevance Health's virtual (remote) workforce strategy. 

**The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles and a 1-hour commute to one of our Elevance Health major office (PulsePoint) locations. Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection.
 

The AI Data Protection – Information Security Sr Advisor will manage the security of data in environments utilizing generative AI technologies. This role will focus on assisting in the design and supporting the systems built for scanning, identifying, and controlling the movement of sensitive data to approved and unapproved AI systems, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and access controls.

How You Will Make An Impact:

  • Design, implement and manage AI-specific data protection strategies, focusing on building and supporting the systems created for scanning and classifying company data to inform and support Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
  • Develop and tune DLP policies specifically for AI environments to ensure all sensitive data is accurately tracked, managed, and protected.
  • Collaborate closely with Identity Management and Large Language Model (LLM) teams to develop and enhance processes for controlling data access and usage control within AI systems.
  • Implement and manage data protection tools and technologies that support AI data environments, in both on-premises and cloud infrastructures, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and other platforms.
  • Review and analyze data flow within AI systems to ensure sensitive data is accessed in line with user permissions and business requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate AI data protection measures and propose enhancements or new initiatives to address evolving technology and business needs.
  • Support audit and compliance processes by providing necessary documentation related to AI data protection practices.
  • Provides trouble resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems.
  • Creates presentations and seeks IT management approval and acceptance of significant replacements or reconfigurations of major security systems serving the Enterprise.
  • Sets vendor strategy and direction.
  • May be assigned to project teams for technical consultation to business partners and developers.
  • Designs & engineers comprehensive access management and network security technical solutions based on business requirements and defined technology standards; works with architecture to update technology direction & strategy.  
  • Develops reports supporting strategy and direction for management.
  • Capable of serving as technical merger & acquisition lead.  
  • Acts as a subject matter expert among peers, with manager and senior management.
  • Must be capable of providing top-tier support for 5 or more of the information security technology common body of knowledge skill sets: 1) Access Control, 2) Application Security, 3) Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, 4) Cryptography, 5) Information Security and Risk Management 6) Legal, Regulations, 7) Compliance and Investigations, 8) Operations Security, 9) Physical (Environmental) Security, 10) Security Architecture and Design, 11) Telecommunications and Network Security.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires BS/BA in information Technology or related field of study and a minimum of 8 years experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, access management and network security technologies, network communications, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management, hardware, software, data, and people; experience with multiple technical and business disciplines required; requires broad-based experience to plan and design highly complex systems; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities & Experiences:

  • Security Certifications: CISSP and other advanced technical security certifications (e.g. Information Systems Security Architecture Professional, Information Security Engineering Professional, Certification and Accreditation Professional, or equivalent certifications) strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection principles, particularly in AI and generative AI systems including DLP and data classification.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to varied audiences.
  • Strong Project Management skills with a history of successfully managing large-scale information security initiatives and processes.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $131,628 to $197,442.
