Location: Within 50 miles of an Elevance Health Massachusetts Pulse Point location
Shift: Saturday – Tuesday; 10:00pm – 8:30am
*This position is supporting the Massachusetts Behavioral Health Helpline taking calls, texts, and chats and providing clinical support to team members*
The Behavioral Health EAP Consultant II is responsible for providing 24/7 Behavioral Health and Employee Assistance services to up to approximately 10 million lives.
How you will make an impact:
- For the MA Behavioral Health Helpline, takes inbound calls, texts and chats who may be in crisis. Performs safety screenings and assessments to discern presence and acuity of risk to the safety of the individual or others.
- Uses information provided by the caller and obtained during the screenings and assessments to accurately understand the individual's needs and develop a plan of action in collaboration with the individual.
- Completes appropriate, timely, and accurate documentation of interactions in accordance with established criteria.
- Provides linkage follow-up as directed to assure individual accessed services.
- Coordinates with other agencies, organizations and individuals to insure optimal use of resources, services and natural support systems. Ensures compliance with all HIPAA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provides telephone support for crisis intervention, assessment, short term problem resolution and referral to appropriate provider(s).
- Assesses members and assists them in accessing behavioral healthcare benefits available under their health plan.
- Provides telephone and/or on-site support for crisis intervention, assessment, short term problem resolution and referral to appropriate provider(s).
- Manages Critical Incident Stress Debriefing requests.
- Assesses members and assists them in accessing behavioral healthcare benefits available under their health plan.
- Applies specialized knowledge in substance abuse, domestic abuse, grief counseling, workplace problems, and management consultation.
- Manages shared mailbox that is used by clients and external vendor to forward information that must be reviewed and placed in documentation system.
Minimum Requirements:
- Requires a HS diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of direct psychiatric and/or substance abuse experience and prior managed care experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Current unrestricted license such as (but not limited to) LPC (as allowed by applicable state laws), LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, or Licensed Professional Counselor, in applicable state(s) required.
Preferred skills capabilities, and experiences:
- MA/MS preferred.
