Business Intelligence Developer

Location: Mason, OH (preferred). This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered.

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for participating in all phases of the design and development life cycle of analytic applications and reporting tools, utilizing various BI technology platforms.  The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing, reporting, and creating dashboards related to training and productivity metrics. You will play a critical role in providing insights and communicating these findings to leadership teams, helping to drive informed decision-making and optimize performance.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Develops relationships with the business to better understand business requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to training and productivity for digital teams. Identify trends, patterns, and insights to support continuous improvement Performs systems design, testing, training, and implementation support. 
  • Identifies detailed business and technical requirements (including all interfaces, technical recovery, security, and audit) on simple single program deliverables. 
  • Aids graphic designers and other web team members to better understand and apply the right marketing-focused content.
  • Dashboard Creation: Design and maintain interactive dashboards that provide real-time visibility into training and productivity metrics, enabling digital teams and leaders to monitor progress and performance. Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results.
  • Participates in integrating activities with other IT departments for the successful implementation and support of project efforts.
  • Understands and supports the development of vendor evaluations. 
  • Reporting: Develop comprehensive reports that effectively communicate key metrics, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Assists with pilots for Business Intelligence tool upgrades, innovative tool evaluations, and configuration of metadata for Business Intelligence tools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 1 year experience on one platform; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.  

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • Multi-database, multi-language or multi-business application strongly preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years experience as a Technical Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role, preferably within digital teams or training environments preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python) and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in an understandable way.
  • Strong technical writing skills to clearly document and present findings and methodologies to diverse audiences through various channels.
  • Experience in the digital industry or with digital transformation projects.
  • Familiarity with training and development programs and metrics.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, such as Smartsheet.
