Business Solution Engineer Director I
Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Ideal candidates must live within 50 miles of a PulsePoint location.
The Business Solution Engineer Director I oversee the management and delivery of digital and AI transformation efforts. This role supports strategies to deliver industry-leading digitized service results, optimize member, provider, and employee experiences, and reduce administrative costs.
How you will make an impact:
• Participate with peers and leadership to deliver strategic plans and objectives.
• Provide a broad range of services needed by operational & technology teams to satisfy strategic initiatives.
• Lead and execute strategic business transformation projects along with complex/new processes.
• Plan, direct, and control the resources and efforts of units within a blended Digital Operations and Business Solution Engineering organization.
• Evaluate and prove how emerging digital and AI technologies (API, RPA, LLMS, and ML) can be used to achieve organizational objectives.
• Partner with operational leaders and IT to establish a pipeline of high-impact areas of transformation opportunities.
• Lead the implementation/management of digitization initiatives that demonstrate an understanding of current and future operational business processes.
• Obtain resources (people, funding, material, support) to accomplish goals within units of responsibility.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Direct multiple work functions/applications or major projects/programs with broad scope and strategic business impact.
• Manage an enterprise suite of applications by developing digitization forecasts and delivery plans.
• Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are implemented, monitored, and updated regularly.
• Deliver operational guidance and offer system solutions enabling 24x7x365 functional operations.
• Prioritize a portfolio of transformation opportunities based on organizational needs and customer impact.
• Oversee the business-led activities of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, test case success criteria, user acceptance testing, and overall solution sign-off.
• Ensure all business deployment activities are completed including documentation, training, change communication, backout plans, and control plans.
• Track value realization and sign-off from business on value and outcomes promised by solutions.
• Monitor the performance of all deployed transformation efforts and ensure continuous solution optimization.
• Optimize and maintain AI and digital solutions including the development and testing of new feature sets for improved predictive model accuracy, prompt tuning, and engineering LLMs.
• Hire, train, coach, and evaluate the performance of direct reports.
• Provide leadership to motivate subordinates and accomplish organizational goals.
• Develop a strong team through training and organizational development practices.
• Implement company policies, practices, and procedures.
• Manage information system and programming activities of technical staff.
• Continually monitor procedures and operational metrics using reporting and analytics tools.
• Manage geographically diverse associates and vendor partners.
• Maintain fiscal responsibility for the unit budget.
• Build strong partnerships with market and digital leads, benefits administration, provider engagement and contracting, sales, and internal audit.
• Adjust communications based on the audience, translating technical issues into non-technical terms for non-technical or executive audiences.
• Facilitate, negotiate, and persuade effectively.
• Interface with external contacts such as customers and agencies.
• Negotiate the resolution of intra-organizational issues in the best interest of the business.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and a minimum of 7 years of experience leading technology (application development, configuration, maintenance or implementation and support) teams and/or cross-functional projects (technology and operations) teams; with 5 years management and/or leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
• Health insurance industry experience is strongly preferred.
