Carelon Client Development Dir

Location: Alternate locations may be considered. This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our PulsePoint locations. Anticipated travel up to 50%.

The Carelon Client Development Dir is responsible for the development and satisfaction of current client accounts to include health plans and health benefits administrators/third party administrators (TPAs), employer groups, benefit consultants, state and federal government entities (i.e., Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, state Medicaid), healthcare providers and integrated delivery systems/accountable care organizations (ACO).

How you will make an impact:

  • Develops strategies and executes plans to identify, target, and secure, renew and maintain current clients to achieve goals in growth, profitability, retention, and strategic value.

  • Networks and prospects for new opportunities at existing clients.

  • Helps sell the Carelon value proposition to assigned groups along with the sales team.

  • Provides consultative subject matter expert information on the suite of products offered by Carelon including MBM, Palliative Care and Post Acute Solutions.

  • Designs and implements standard and customized bundles of Carelon services to seize unique cost-of-care and quality improvement opportunities for client groups.

  • Assists in client account implementation servicing to ensure their recognition of value and satisfaction with Carelon services.

  • Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Understands the issues specific to the client and applies knowledge, insight and experience into strategic recommendations.

  • Understands the business processes that the system supports.

  • May develop product and sales support messaging and materials, and provide input into the design of an account planning and renewal strategy.

  • Helps with Net Promoter Score process and drives improvement of client NPS scores.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in health care related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience in account management, sales and/or operations in the health care industry; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:

  • MBA preferred.

  • A successful track record of selling specialty care/benefit management services and technology for leading healthcare companies to target customers is strongly preferred.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.

  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred. 

  • Proficient of Microsoft Office products Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $140,196 to $240,336
