Clinical Account Director - MO Sales
Location: This field-based role enables associates to primarily operate in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as their role requires, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands-on engagement. Candidate must reside in MO.

The Clinical Account Director manages clinical accounts for large and complex clients, serving as a strategic advisor who connects program performance to cost and quality drivers while building trusted client relationships and delivering practical, measurable recommendations aligned to each client’s workforce needs. The role collaborates with clinical and financial analysis leaders to refine evaluation metrics, identify healthcare cost drivers, and support data-informed decision-making for client accounts. Ideal candidates should have deep clinical knowledge (nursing-based), strong analytical capability to synthesize claims and population data, and exceptional communication/presentation skills to explain complex insights in an engaging, relatable way while effectively collaborating across diverse internal and external teams.
How you will make an impact:
Collaborates with clinical and financial analysis programs leaders to develop and refine program evaluation metrics to assist in determining the drivers of health care costs for client accounts.
Evaluates and presents clinical program and financial reports and makes recommendations to the client regarding ways to increase the health of the worker population while reducing healthcare costs.
Partners with client leaders and account executives to design benefits and programs which reduce costs without sacrificing the quality of care.
Participates in the development of clinical performance guarantees for assigned clients.
Builds effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Implements and integrates complex clinical programs using project management principles.
Understands business processes and proactively identifies the need for creative and innovative changes to processes to support client needs.
Identifies need for and develops new policies, procedures, or operational guidelines within clinical account management.
Functions as a preceptor for new Clinical Program Director staff.
Participates in finalist presentations as requested.
Supports company sales responses to Requests For Proposals.
Associates in this role are expected to have operational knowledge and subject matter expertise on a broad range of medical/care management functions.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BS/BA degree in nursing or other health-related field and a minimum of 10 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:
Advanced education preferred.
Clinical licensure and/or advanced clinical credentials (RN strongly desired) highly preferred.
Strong analytical ability to synthesize clinical, claims, and population health data to interpret medical management program performance (e.g., care management, UM, condition management, behavioral health), identify cost/quality drivers, and recommend actionable interventions preferred.
Proven ability to translate complex clinical and financial reporting into executive-ready client narratives, including clear recommendations, performance measure reporting, and consulting on clinical performance guarantees/outcomes (quality, utilization, total cost of care) preferred.
Experience partnering with Account Executives and client leaders to design benefit strategies and clinical programs, implementing initiatives using project management methods and overseeing end-to-end program execution; able to support RFPs and finalist presentations with polished client-facing materials preferred.
Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.
Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.
Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred.
Proficient of Microsoft Office products Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word strongly preferred.
